Classification: Diogenite, anomalous W-low / S-low
Place/Time: 2025 in Libya
Mass: 1700g

History: The meteorite was found during a search in Libya and subsequently purchased from a local dealer.
Physical characteristics: Light brownish rock partly with fusion crust.
Petrography: Achondrite predominantly composed of lath-shaped patchily zoned low-Ca pyroxene, interstitial calcic plagioclase, and less abundant weakly zoned olivine crystals. Minor phases include chromite, troilite, and FeNi metal.
Geochemistry: patchily zoned pyroxene: Fs30.5±6.9Wo6.3±3.3 (Fs18.2-37.0Wo1.0-10.8, FeO/MnO=26-33, n=7); olivine: Fa34.3±2.0 (Fa31.1-36.1, FeO/MnO=44-48, n=7); calcic plagioclase: An90.5±0.4 (An90.0-91.3, n=7); Cr# in chromite: 66.0±5.6, n=6
Classification: Diogenite (anomalous, olivine-bearing). Diogenite based on presence of large low-Ca pyroxene grains, FeO/MnO ratios of pyroxene and olivine, and Ancontent of plagioclase. Anomalous designation based on the texture dominated by lath-shaped patchily zoned pyroxenes. Resembles the coarse-grained lithology of NWA 17016 and is likely paired.
