Classification: Eucrite melt breccia S-high / W-moderate
Place/Time: 2025 in Libya
Mass: 6.17 kg

History: The meteorite was purchased from a dealer in Libya.
Physical characteristics: Grayish rock partly covered with fusion crust.
Petrography: Achondritic melt breccia composed of cm-sized basaltic clasts and up to 800 µm sized mineral fragments in finely crystallized melt rock matrix. Main minerals are exsolved pyroxene and calcic plagioclase often exhibiting resorption textures when in contact with the melt matrix. Some pyroxenes show mottled zoning. Melt rock matrix is present as thin black melt veins and large cm-sized partly vesicular melt pockets. Minor phases include silica, chromite, ilmenite, and troilite. No metal detected.
Geochemistry: low-Ca pyroxene host to augite exsolution lamellae: Fs61.0±0.4Wo3.4±0.1 (Fs60.4-61.8Wo3.2-3.6, FeO/MnO=30-33, n=7); augite exsolution lamellae: Fs30.1±0.3Wo40.9±0.4 (Fs29.5-30.6Wo40.3-41.5, FeO/MnO=32-37, n=7); calcic plagioclase: An90.7±0.6 (An89.7-91.3, n=7)

NOTE: Mat finished both sides with unique bubble melt clast !
