Mass: 787g

History: The meteorite was reportedly found in Libya and subsequently purchased from a local dealer.
Physical characteristics: Two angular fragments with brownish to reddish exterior.
Petrography: Optical investigation of a polished and etched slice shows kamacite lamellae with a bandwidth of 1.8±0.5 mm (n=10), consistent with coarse octahedrite (Og). Contains schreibersite and few Cr-bearing troilite inclusions.
Geochemistry: About 500 mg of the sample plus a fragment of North Chile as standard were analyzed using an Agilent 8900 QQQ ICP-MS (Shun-Chung Yang, USC) following the method described in D’Orazio and Folco (2003) : Ni = 6.71, Co = 0.46 (both wt%); Mn = 0.30, Cu = 137, Ga = 54.7, As = 6.2, Ge = 216.3, Ru = 8.06, Pd = 0.88, W = 1.28, Re = 0.04, Os = 0.40, Ir = 0.50, Pt = 9.72, Au = 0.63 (all ppm).
Classification: Iron meteorite (IC). Coarse octahedrite.

CONDITION: Etched slice covered with paraloid B72
