Classification: Enstatite chondrite EH6a, S-low, W-moderate
Place/Time: 2022 in Morocco
Mass: 3.4 kg
History: The meteorite was purchased from a local meteorite dealer in Niger.
Physical characteristics: Dark brownish rock with some fusion crust.
Petrography: The meteorite displays a fine-grained granular texture dominated by 20 to 300 µm sized enstatite and sodic feldspar grains. Opaque phases are Si-bearing kamacite, schreibersite, troilite, daubréelite, niningerite, and Cr-bearing troilite. No relict chondrules detected.
Classification: Enstatite chondrite (EH6a). EH designation based on silica content in kamacite and presence of niningerite. EHa subgroup based on Cr contents in troilite, Fe contents in (Mg,Fe,Mn)S, and high abundance of daubréelite (Weyrauch et al,. 2017).
Specimen mirror polished on one side, and second side is raw polished to expose iron.
