Classification: IAB-MG W-low / S-low
Place/Time: 2019 in Moroco
Mass: 367g

History: Consists of a single, rounded mass with a rusted surface. Surface appears porous with some fractures evident. Apparently oriented with a rollover lip.
Physical characteristics: (C. Herd, UAb) Optical and SEM investigation of a 3 x 4 cm polished and etched surface reveals an equilibrated texture consisting of 20-40 um scale kamacite grains. No inclusions were noted. No alteration is evident.
Petrography: ICP-MS data, using sample of North Chile (Filomena) as standard (C. Herd and S. DuFrane, UAb): Ni = 6.5, Co = 0.489 (both wt%); Ir = 2.6, Ga = 72, Ge = 490, As = 32, Ru = 4.0, Pd = 7.2, Re = 0.27, W = 0.72, Pt = 5.3, Cu = 140, Au = 1.4 (all µg/g).
Geochemistry: (C. Herd, UAb): IAB Main Group iron. As may be high due to contamination. Consistent with IAB-MG based on element-Au plots for Ni, Co, Ga, Ge, W, and Cu, by comparison with Wasson and Kallemeyn (2002).
Classification: (C. Herd, UAb): IAB iron, medium octahedrite. Most likely belongs to the Main Group, by comparison with Wasson and Kallemeyn (2002).

NOTE: Slice protected by PARALOID layer. Do not add oil. Only 10 slices/endpieces will be available.
