Classification: Achondrite, Brachinite W-low /S1
Place/Time: 2024 in Morocco
Mass: 26g

History: The meteorite was purchased from a dealer in Morocco.
Physical characteristics: Several small black fragments partly to completely covered with fusion crust.
Petrography: Brecciated carbonaceous chondrite composed of small chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 250 µm), chondrule pseudomorphs, often compositionally zoned mineral fragments, and few CAIs set into fine-grained Fe-rich matrix containing fibrous phyllosilicates, Ca-carbonates, magnetite, pentlandite, pyrrhotite, rare schreibersite, and FeNi-metal. Many chondrules and CAIs are surrounded by fine-grained dust rims. Low analytical totals of matrix analyses confirm the presence of hydrous phyllosilicates.
Geochemistry: Matrix analyses yield FeO=36.3±2.7 wt% and an average total of 83.6±1.6 wt% (5 µm defocused beam, N=7)

NOTE: Purchased this as rare C2 or C3 that turned to be CM2, so its now impossible to return my investment from 20g that I have available for sale.
