Classification: Chondrite LL3-7 melt breccia W1 / S2
Place/Time: 2025 in Mali
Mass: 260g
History: The meteorite was purchased from a dealer in Mali.
Physical characteristics: Brownish rock with some fusion crust.
Petrography: Chondritic melt-breccia composed of up to 1.1 cm sized type LL3 and LL7 clasts in a black, finely recrystallized melt rock matrix. Type 3 clasts contains well-defined, mostly rounded and packed chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 800 µm) with compositionally unequilibrated olivine and low-Ca pyroxene. LL7 clasts show a strongly recrystallized texture with 120 degree grain boundaries and do not contain any relict chondrules. Opaque phases are sulfides and rare FeNi metal.
Condition: full slice, one side polished
